TrekFest 2009

TrekFest, as always, was held on the last weekend in June (6/26 & 6/27 this year) in Riverside, IA. NOTE and I attended many of the free events on Saturday including the parade, costume contest, and flea market. While we didn't pay to go meet the guests, we did get right up next to them while we were there.

It was a fun time. We saw an old friend from college whose son was in the costume contest, snacked on the lunch special, hob-nobbed with the 501st Legion (in attendance to honor George Takei for his voice work on the Clone Wars series - and probably to help justify spending all that money on uniforms by wearing them), and visited the local ice cream parlor to cool off and check out their autograph wall. Heck, I even bought a new Star Trek action figure to commemorate the experience.
