Beer Here! Beer Here!
A pithy post where Bricker provides some critical reviews of the beer that is in his fridge waiting for your arrival
Terrible Dark Ale Even the hard-core beer connoisseurs will be impressed by the balance on the palate and the deep, long aftertaste. I'm very proud of this one. Terrible has the greatest aging potential of all our products. I can't wait to taste this one five years from now! Paul Arnott Unibroue's master brewer
Flying Dog K9 Cruiser This beer is not thin, not wimpy, not spiced, just a hearty ale that is exquisitely balanced. When I say balanced, I mean the big malt flavor is offset by a wonderful hop tartness. The result is a beer that tastes like a true ale should. Jeff Indianapolis, IN
Shiner Hefeweizen You should always pour Shiner Hefeweizen into a glass to properly rouse the yeast that lingers at the bottom of the bottle. We are urging beer drinkers to 'Pour yourself an out of bottle experience!' Gary Hudman Shiner brand manager
Lake Superior Special Ale Nice whack of Cascades hops up front, but the hops pulls back and the malt shines through. This is a bit more hopped-up than the average pale ale, but not as over the top as a hop-monster. Very nice and magnificently quaffable. If this was available to me on a regular basis, it would be a beer fridge staple Brent Bowling Green, KY
Boulevard Irish Red You would be hard pressed to find a better American made Irish ale styled beer. Very recommended. Bob LaPorte, IN
Victory Golden Monkey I love this beer. OK, I admit it. I love the 9.5% kick in the butt! It tastes good. It is almost syrupy because it is so smooth and flavorful. But it still quenches the thirst. All of the labels outrageous claims of Enlightenment and Mystical Experiences just may come true if you try to drink too many of these. I highly recommend it! Stan Omaha, Nebraska
Victory Storm King Stout All-in-all there were probably 20 presenters, and the unanimous choice among our trio of tasters was the STORM KING STOUT from Victory Brewing. I was already a huge fan of Victory's HOP DEVIL, but the Storm King took it to another level. It has the huge hop aroma of a Pacific Northwest ale, but finishes, almost melts, into a roasted malt finish. This wasn't a beer, it was a treat. Review from York County Microbrewfest Gettysburg, PA March 2002
Rouge Honey Cream Ale Honey Cream Ale reminds me very much of vanilla cream soda. Light and fizzy with a sweet taste, it goes down easily like soda pop. Sweet, but not thick and overbearing. A great beer to drink on a hot day. It's a good beer to introduce novices to the differnt flavors that can be imparted on craft beers. You can definietly taste the honey, but it's not so strong as to alientate anyone. Perfect execution in my not-even humble opinion . A guy calling himself œGOD” Arizona
Rouge Oregon Golden Ale Very inviting golden bubbly joy! An awesomely sweet, hoppy gulper of a beer. Beautifully well rounded. An outstanding effort in all ways. Excellent choice for hopheads in a mood for a lighter beer. Brad Las Vegas, NV
Hazed and Infused Dry-Hopped Ale With its psychedelic label and trippy word play, you might think this Colorado ale was brewed by a bunch of people who wear burlap and eat a lot of soy. We can't confirm that, but in the beer department, they know what they're doing. Using a process called dry hopping, in which hops are œinfused” a second time during fermentation, the folks at Rockies produce grog that's hazy and amber in color, with lots of malty bitterness. Microbrew Times
Tennet's of Scotland Never having heard of Tennent's, I tried this one at a local bar for the reason that it's Scottish and I have a bit of an obsession with things Scottish. Well, this beer reaffirms the greatness of Caledonia. Only having had one, I can't quite describe the exact flavor characteristics, but I remember the beautiful, velvet mouthfeel of the beer as one to remember. It's definitely one of the finer European lagers. Highly recommended. Fred Atlanta, GA
Dixie Crimson Voodo Ale I really didn't expect to like this beer, but after drinking one, I must admit that it was great! Ralph Amarillo, TX
Stiegl œBeer brewed with lemon-soda” If you want to talk easy drinking, well you've found it here. It's like lemon Kool-Aid and a glass of Pils at the same timeª.. how could you not like that? Matt Tampa FL
Bells Amber Ale For me, this is the best beer that I have ever had. All other beers must attempt to be this good. Mark Zimmerman, MN
Young's Double Chocalate Stout Wow! What a beer! this brew is so good its almost too good to be beer. this beverage is what drinking beer is all about....its all in the back palate where the impact really hits ya. what else can one say? chocolate chocolate chocolate! its already smooth, but that richness of the chocolate in addition to the mild hoppiness is just a killer. even my girlfriend who despises beer could dig this one (not that im suggesting its a chick beer). œDiablo” Melborne, Austraila
Cave Creek Chili Beer This beer is the most horrible beer I ever drank. I like chili and I love beer, but the two don't go together, at least they don't in this stuff. Whoever thought of putting an oily fruit such as a jalapeno in beer doesn't have a clue about head retention btw, but that isn't half as bad as the foul taste. Ed Lakewood, FL
