Stay On Target Red Five

A really long post from Mr. Bricker discussing things logistical

Yo, my collective peeps.

BIYF is upon us. And that can only mean one thing. Malla and I have been sitting in the basement wondering how to arrange the couches in order to maintain optimum viewing pleasure. We have a new couch, longish and comfy, so that is good. But the debate on how it will be positioned rages on. It does help bridge me to the first logistical issue:

PAARMANN: ARE YOU BRINGING THE AV GEAR? DOES THAT INCLUDE A SCREEN?

Ofcourse, there is more to BIYF then watching movies. There is also drinking, eating and sleeping. I'll take these in LIFO order (Last In, First Out):

SLEEPING: Bricker house has good accomodations this year, including new pull out couch; footon, secondary couch, and Maddie's bed. We could easily take a couple of couples. There is also fine local accomodations of the hotel variety that are damn near in walking distance. If you feel the need for privacy this can be aquired for a modest amount American Money. Out of towners please adivse your preferences.

EATING: Bricker got a brand new grill and so Sunday Morning brunch is a must host opportunity. Saturday evening dinner--grilling out--also begining to be a real plan. Friday night is open. We'll aquire snack food day of. Kaaaaahns a must, I kind of liked it as a closing activity, like last year.

DRINKING: Blendergirrrrl is all over the blenderdrinks. The beer question (remember, it is your friend) is how did people feel about the beer aquistion happening in advance of the arrival of honored guests? It cut some logistical time, but also limited choices for out of towners. I could take requests. For sure there will be more of those little Jap-beers--they were awesome!

And a final note on the presence of children. As we all know BIYF retains its special quality of special-ness because of an absence of Children. We will, consequently, be dumping (though Malla might object to this characterization) our daughter at Grandma camp for the weekend. Our son continues to need to be fed by his mother (lucky devil) and will be on site for the event. We apologize in advance for any pain/pleasure this may cause you.

Finally, I'd like to speak a word of excitement about this BIYF. I'm not sure if it can be any better than 1993, but the addition of Starbuck, his wife and possibly Zoot Dayz makes this collective member giggle with excitement. I see a world of painful potential this year.

As John Kerry would say: Bring it on!
