BIYF Collective Hivemind Opens Doors

Let it never be said that Zardoz does not listen to feedback ...

He doesn't enjoy the process nor does he always act on it, but he actually does listen.

For those wanted more "Interactive" in their "Interactive Web Community," the BIYF Collective Hivemind will hopefully fit the bill. This is the likely successor to the current method of posting news for BIYF. Not only can members post news with relative ease, but if you're logged in you can comment on posted articles, start threads and participate in forums, take part in polls, and sort through previously posted articles with no great effort.

The news will now be posted in categories. By clicking on the image that accompanies each article in the Hivemind, you can pull up all of the articles in that category, making it simple to pull up all of your Shatner news (or B Squad news, etc. ) at one time.

There are other new features as well, but I'll post something in the Hivemind area with greater detail. The previous posts (using the old system) will be archived and probably moved off of the BIYF.com home page in favor of a more standard home page setup.

By now, most of you have received your new login information. If not, let me know and we'll go from there. For the time being, I have locked out new registrations on the Hivemind site. If you're one of a couple members that still need an account, just drop me a note and I'll get it set up. If you are (or know of) someone who would like to be able to comment at the site (other B Squad members, friends and relations, etc.), just drop me an email and I can get you/them set up as well.

I'm going to keep the "register yourself" feature shut off at the site because, let's face it, I don't care what Bob in Waving Grass, IA thinks of the postings or forums at the site. I do care about what you BIYFers (and friends) think, though. Add your distinctiveness to the Hivemind today and check it out! The Hivemind is linked under the header at the top of the page.

In other words, go kick the tires on the new system, please. There's nothing earthshattering posted there right now, so feel free to test stuff out. New forums, news categories, polls, etc. can be added at any time. The only things currently there are simply examples of what could be done. If you have ideas, please let me know.

Feedback will be ... noted.
